How Egypt’s Old Kingdom Period ended is a subject of great debate for social, political, economic, and to a far less extent, environmental factors. Satellite remote sensing and ground survey research in Egypt’s East Delta is evidence that a global climate change phenomenon was one of the primary reasons the great pyramid age of Egypt ended, ushering in a time period of social and political collapse.
